Medtech Christmas/New Year office hours

Medtech offices in Auckland will be closed for general non-urgent business from 5:00pm Wednesday, 23rd December 2009, and will reopen again at 8:00am on Monday, 11th January 2010.

 

Help desk services

Our customer services help desk support will be available for urgent business from 8:00am to 5:00pm over the festive holiday season (from Wednesday, 23rd December) and will revert to usual hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm when Medtech offices reopen on Monday, 11th January 2010. Helpdesk can be contacted on 09-358 0116, Option 1.

 

The Help Desk will be closed and Afterhours support will NOT be available on the following stat days

  • Friday 25th December 2009 - Christmas Day
  • Monday 28th December 2009
  • Friday 1st January 2010 – New Years Day
  • Monday 4th January 2010

Afterhours support for non stat days will be available on Monday to Friday from 17:00 to 21:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00 by contacting the Medtech Pager Service on (026) 116 986.

Prescribing Enhancements for Medtech32

Medtech together with CMP Medica (MIMs) have been working to improve the prescribing module in Medtech32, improvements include:

  • When prescribing non-MIMs drugs – a warning notification which provides a list of alternative drugs that can be prescribed.
  • Enhancement to drug interactions including cross sensitivity checking.
  • Addition of a medication search function for drugs that are safe for use in pregnancy and sport.

These changes are currently undergoing extensive clinical review before releasing to all customers. We anticipate a full general release early in 2010.

 

Medtech is also working with Pharmac to make further improvements to the prescribing module which includes:

  • Highlighting of funded products
  • ‘Generic substitution allowed’ display options on prescriptions
  • Close control trial periods
  • Removal of redundant messages on scripts
  • Search of subsidised drugs by therapeutic group.

It is anticipated that these changes will also be available for full general release early in 2010.

Medtech Evolution update

Medtech is pleased to announce that our Evolution product is now ready for Beta release. Customers who are interested in participating in the Beta program should contact our Software Product Manager – Chrissie Patterson on email: cpatterson@medtechglobal.com for further details.

PHO Performance Programme Data

PMS Vendors are currently working with the PHO Performance Programme team at DHBNZ to make changes to the Clinical Event Export to incorporate codes from third party decision support tools that interact with practice management systems.

 

Screening terms under review include CVD risk assessments and diabetes annual check terms. This development is scheduled to be released to practices before the end of March 2010. It will update the Clinical Event Export, as well as provide a more comprehensive mapping tool for practice use in Medtech32.

Interbase 2007 Upgrade Available

Medtech is pleased to announce that Interbase 2007 is now available to practices that have upgraded to Version 18.0 of Medtech32.

 

A number of features and benefits are available with Interbase 2007. It is one of the fastest databases available. Performance enhancements and optimizations have also been added in a number of areas such as query optimizations. The IB Console provides a Graphical User Interface for database performance monitoring.

 

Medtech has tested Interbase 2007 and confirms that it is able to run in the following server environments: 

  • Windows Vista (requires administrator rights)
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Server 2003

Interbase 2007 is also able to run, and has been tested by Medtech, in the following desktop environments:

  • Windows Vista (requires necessary permissions)
  • Windows XP

New training packages for 2010

We are putting together a new training package to be released in January 2010.

 

The training package includes:

 

1. Group training in your area once per year:

  • 1.5 hour clinical session
  • 1.5 hour admin session

2. Four months unlimited access to the e-learning forum with a choice of two modules per year.

Your entire practice will have unlimited use of our e-learning modules for four months. The modules contain narrated screen videos and exercises.

 

Choose from these Modules:

  • NIR and Immunisation Module
  • Query Builder Module
  • Clinical Introduction
  • Reception Introduction
  • Coming soon – Advanced Reception

Medtech32 Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can we upgrade from Version 18 to Version 18.16?

 

A. Version 18 was a milestone release of Medtech32; our latest milestone product release is Version 18.15. When carrying out an upgrade, in the first instance, please refer to our website: http://www.medtechglobal.com/nz/medtech-online-nz/mo-medtech32-nz/downloads.html for a list of what each Version upgrade contains and a copy of the release notes. To upgrade from Version 18 to Version 18.16, you will first need to install the updated milestone version release (V18.15), followed by V18.16.

 

 Q. When I try to open “patient manager” the window does not open?

 

A. When a patient is on the pallet, select F6 for patient manager, on the main menu (tool bar) click on “window”, then click “arrange”. The screen will be moved forward into view.

 

Q. In the “Queue”, when I put a patient in “consultation”, my name is not showing on the provider list?

 

A. With “Queue” open, scroll up to “Queue” in the main menu, select “on-duty providers” and tick your provider name.

Windows 7 Support Notice

Please note that Medtech32 does not currently support Windows 7. Please do not attempt to upgrade your current systems to any Windows 7 versions as we are unable to provide support until thorough analysis and testing has been carried out. We anticipate an announcement regarding this early in 2010.
