      February 2009

Dear Medtech E-News Reader,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Primary Healthcare Sector Manager for Medtech Global’s Australian market. My background is in the practical support of both general and specialist practices having run my own business for 10 years supporting both the software and IT infrastructure.

Practices are busy workplaces and need a flexible software package to allow for the many variations in how each site would like to run. The challenge we often face is getting the knowledge out to our customers who may not be using features that can improve daily efficiency. The same issue applies to our other software products, where some issues may be configuration or training based.

This is why I would like to see 2009 as a year of greater communication. I therefore welcome your communication, but let’s focus this on practical improvements. The process is a two way event and we need to work together to “filter out” the noise that can otherwise distract how we apply our software development resources. Strategic enhancements often come from the customer base as the legislative and technology landscape evolves and this is where we should concentrate. Development should be based on an overview from our sites to identify the practical needs and functional issues that collectively assist.

One of my first tasks is to visit a number of sites in each state over the next few months to better understand where practices are growing. The aim is to get an overview of the features that bring value and to take the “pulse” of our sites. Please feel free to call me if you would like to be added to this list and I will endeavor to accommodate you.

Finally we plan to run this newsletter every quarter and after my visits, look to re-establish the user group forums that allow us to better recognize any pressing needs.

Thank you and I look forward to assisting your practice.

Kind regards,

Bruce Burns
Primary Healthcare Sector Manager

FREE TRAINING WORKSHOP

On Friday the 27th of March we will be hosting a free online Training Workshop that concentrates on all aspects of Medtech32 Version 7. The Training Workshop will be broken down into four main sessions: Front Desk, Setup, Administration and Clinical. The training will run throughout the day for approximately one hour per session.

This training is an ideal opportunity for all users (including receptionists, practice managers and doctors) to refresh their knowledge and to measure where in the software they might need to improve their skills. The Training Workshop would also be beneficial for staff members who are new to Medtech32.

The Training Workshop is flexible because you decide which sessions you want to participate in. As the training is conducted online using your computer, as many staff that can view the screen can attend. The intended sessions are as follows:
