Medtech32 Version 19 Release
“Medtech have worked very hard over the last year, consulting with working GPs like myself, to develop and refine the new prescribing module. It is a big step forward in terms of features, and most importantly, patient safety. It also has the underpinnings for moving forward in an increasingly connected world.” Richard Medlicott – Island Bay Medical Centre – Version 19.0 Beta Tester.
The much awaited Medtech32 Version 19 began a phased release to practices last week. This upgrade features changed workflows which significantly improve prescribing and patient safety. We have undertaken a particularly rigorous industry review for this release, led by the Medtech Clinical Advisory Group and robust live testing by two busy General Practices - Island Bay Medical Centre and Stoke Medical Centre.
The Medtech team would like to thank the Clinical Advisory Group and in particular Drs Richard Medlicott and Bev Nicolls for their time and valuable input in the development of Version 19.
Some of the major changes contained in Version 19 include:
- Prescribing of old medications – a warning notification is given which provides a list of alternative drugs that can be prescribed.
- Enhancement to drug interactions including cross-sensitivity checking.
- Addition of a “medication search” function for drugs that are safe for use in pregnancy and sport.
